Meet Karen - Care Partner at Better Day!

Karen Howells joined us as a care partner five years ago and is a ray of sunshine at Better Day. Her enthusiasm is contagious and her humor and British accent have had us laughing ever since she set foot into Pleasantries, now Better Day. Karen’s warmth touches everyone and her adventurous spirit makes us feel alive.

Prior to working at Better Day, Karen worked as an event planner and stay-at-home mother. She gained first-hand experience helping her mother-in-law care for her father-in-law who lived with Alzheimer’s disease. When her children left for college, transitioning into being a care partner at Pleasantries came naturally.  

Karen energetically leads guests in our morning sessions of Ageless Grace (learn more about Ageless Grace here) and is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP). With a deep passion for travel and spending time with family, Karen is instrumental in helping us plan out and implement our travel-themed weeks, field trips, culinary adventures and infusing our program flow with warmth and familial love.

Cherishing the priceless relationships she’s built with our guests, Karen always notes how she couldn’t imagine working anywhere else, and we couldn’t imagine Better Day without her!
